Thinking of starting out in Transport and not sure what to do or how to get started. Here is a short checklist that will help you........

What you need to know

• What sector of the transport industry you are going to work in?
• What type of vehicle or vehicle combination you will need?
• What is the cost of the business?
• Is it financially viable? (Do cost model)
• Where are you going to get your finance from?
• Have you enough capital to run for 6 months?
• Have you got a contract?
• What are the expectations of the company contracting you?
• How are you going to manage your business administration?
• Have you got a transport service licence? (Application and Personal Details Forms)
• Have you got an understanding partner?
• Do you understand the term "willing compliance"?
